Welcome to Metropolitan RW

The Metropolitan Republican Women's Club, a part of the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women, is now 133 members strong and still growing.  no doubt, we will continue to expand as more conservative women in the Metro area come together to make a positive difference for our nation.

A great group of ladies from the Metro RW recently attended the Southern Republican Leadership conference that was held here in New Orleans.  Among the speakers were many prominent national conservatives including Alaska's Immediate Past Governor Sara Palin, Former Speaker of the US House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, Governor of Texas Rick Perry, US Congressman from Texas Ron Paul, Former US Congressman from Oklahoma J.C. Watts and Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.  This year's conference set new records for attendance and enthusiasm.

Members enjoyed a productive day participating in the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women's "Day at the Legislature" event.

We are still getting accolades as a result of Ms. Frances Rice serving as our guest speaker.  Ms. Rice is a co-founder and the current Chairman of the National Black Republican Association (NBRA).  she is a retired attorney, and retied as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army.

Our members continue to leave their marks as conservative leaders.  Several were recently quoted in the June issue of the New Yorker magazine.

The Metro Republican Women remain active with the STAIR organization.  STAIR is a volunteer-based, non-profit children's literacy organization that provides reading tutors for public school second grade students.  STAIR was founded in New Orleans in 1985.  Recently we assisted 9 children who began as students performing under their grade levels.  After tutoring these same 9 students now excel beyond their grade levels.
