Livingston Parish Republican Women (LPRW) received its Charter from the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women in 2003. LPRW had a resurgence of activity in 2007 and is now busy helping to keep the voting public in Livingston Parish politically informed and active. We meet monthly on the first Wednesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Big Mike's Sports Bar and Grill in Denham Springs. Our 2018 goals are (a) to help elect and keep Republicans in government offices and (b) to register new voters and/or switch voter registrations in Livingston Parish.
LPRW is very active in various Community Service Projects as well as Campaign activities:
Scholarships – Each year we award a $1000 college scholarship to a young woman that desires to pursue a career in government or politics.
Mamie Eisenhower – Our club purchases conservative library books to donate to our three public libraries
Education – Our members donated several hundred dollars to help buy school supplies for the Access the Need program.
GOP – Several of our members did volunteer work for the state GOP office when help was needed
Campaigns – many of our members volunteer for a variety of campaigns participating in door-to-door, phone banking, and sign waving. We are proud that one of our past presidents of LPRW, Valarie Hodges, serves in the LA House of Representatives for District 64!
Capital Alerts - LPRW also makes a difference by keeping their members posted on issues that effect our state and nation so our elected officials stay in touch with our concerns.
Our meetings are open to registered Republican women and men who are interested in the community they live in. Please come and join us! Let us know when you are coming by sending an RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. We welcome any registered Republican to become an active or associate member for $35.00 per year.
