East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Women East Baton Rouge Parish Republican Women is one of the State’s founding clubs. It is Baton Rouge’s first club, established in 1953. We are a fun loving group of gals who work together to promote the ideals of patriotism and good government, while fervently supporting our Republican candidates.
While our main mission is to provide a forum for all women to participate in the political process on the national, state and local level, we also participate in serving our community through donations of time and money to organizations such as the Baton Rouge Area Food Bank, The Louisiana War Veterans Home, The Iris Domestic Violence Center, The Magnolia House, Louisiana Family Forum among others. Representative Rick Edmonds & Senator Franklin Foil We are excited to welcome two of Baton Rouge's conservative legislators to our April Meeting. Senator Foil and Representative Edmonds will share with us their legislative priorities for this session and their future political aspirations.
Rep. Rick Edmonds is a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from East Baton Rouge Parish, representing District 66. He was first elected to office in 2015, re-elected in 2019, and has announced his candidacy for State Senate. He serves on the Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs, as Chairman of Appropriation, on Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee, and as Chairman of Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget.Senator Franklin Foil is a member of the Louisiana State Senate, representing District 16 since 2020. Franklin was elected to serve the citizens of Senate District 16 in 2019 after serving for 12 years as the Representative for District 70 in the Louisiana House of Representatives. He serves as Judiciary C, Chairman and also serves on Local and Municipal Affairs, Senate and Governmental Affairs, Select Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs, and Senate Select Committee on Homeland Security.
